Experienced building maintenance inspector required by local public sector for a minimum 6 week contract position in South London.

To be successful as a building maintenance inspector you will have minimum 2 years technical experience in local authority building maintenance, be able to demonstrate the ability to undertake surveys & prepare specifications, prepare short technical reports and supervise contractors.

The building maintenance inspector role requires the successful candidate to have good computer skills, the ability to communicate skilfully and effectively with the public both by telephone and in writing and have a strong work ethic, willing to put in extra hours where required to manage workload and meet deadlines.

The building maintenance inspector role is to essentially provide technical support for non-routine repair matters in the area of housing. Duties include ensuring housing is suitable for re-letting or sale to the required standard, working with the senior technical support officer in dealing with Tenants' 'Right to Repair' and handling related paperwork as required.

In the process of repairs the role requires the supervision and monitoring of the performance contractors to ensure the standard and quality of work and that value for money is achieved in this process.

This is a great initial 6 week candidate and you will already have experience in a previous building maintenance inspector role.
