Southend-on-Sea Borough Council (LGC Council of the Year 2012) is seeking two Building Control Officers to join our Building Control Team.

Ideally you will be educated to degree level and a member of/working towards membership of a relevant professional body (ie RICS or ABE), however applicants with a relevant qualification or relevant experience may be considered.

You should have an in depth knowledge of construction and relevant building legislation, together with the ability to work under your own initiative within a busy environment and be committed to providing a high level of customer service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking all general Building Control duties, eg plan checking and site inspections; to ensure the Council fulfils its statutory obligations.

The role offers flexible/remote working and the opportunity to work on diverse and exciting projects.
