Build Technician

We are on the search for a Build Technician with extensive experience building and deploying web applications in the Facebook environment. If you are interesting in joining an established, exciting media environment, read on!

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage continuous build, test, and deployment processes
- Manage GIT and SVN code repositories
- Troubleshoot compile and build failures and facilitate resolution
- Manage the release of software components into dev, staging, and production environments
- Improve speed, efficiency, and scalability of the build system, automating wherever possible
- Work with technical leads to review deployment plans and release management solutions
- Responsible for coordinating software upgrades for GIT, SVN, Jenkins, Windows, and other support tools as needed
- Manage the build system improvement roadmap and technology improvements to ensure team meets its goals
- Design and create build jobs in Jenkins that allow for asynchronous execution of builds to facilitate the needs of the projects

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Familiar with Jenkins/Hudson build management system
- Solid knowledge of best practices, processes, and tools required to support a successful Continuous Integration system
- Experience in administering GIT and SVN source control management systems
- Comfortable working in Agile/iterative development environments and able to drive the process
- Experience working along the boundary between development, testing, and operations
- Competent with the following:
- Writing bash scripts
- Tomcat
- Apache Ant
- Python Scripting
- Maven
- Windows batch files
- GIT Source code management system
- SVN Source code management system
- Windows Virtual Machine Management
- SSH and RSA Encryption keys
- Windows Server

This contract position is expected to be 6 months in duration.
