Build Engineer

IT Alliance, an IT Managed Services and Outsourcing Company, are looking to hire a Build Engineer on behalf of a large multinational software company based in Dublin South. The successful candidate will work as part of the Build Team and be responsible for implementing the production builds to RTM status, reporting on and performing corrective action to any breaks and system flaws. The team also develops internal tools and the successful candidate will also work in this area. The technical challenges are vast and exciting, whilst providing the candidates with ample opportunity to increase and enhance their technical skills especially within the Microsoft space. We are looking to hire on both permanent employees and contractors. Employees will receive both on the job training and will attend courses as part of their career development plan. The ideal candidate should have a recognized third level IT qualification with a passion for Programming/Software Development or relevant experience.

Responsibilities:

- Working as part of the Build Operations team, ensuring the timely completion of production builds.
- Finding and proactively responding to build breaks and other issues.
- Working closely with Developers and Project Managers to improve the quality of the products.
- Attending online meetings and conference calls with the US Build Team.
- Feature development of internal tool and bug fixing.
- Programming in languages such as C#, .Net, C++ and SQL.
- Working to strict deadlines and ensuring a high quality output across all areas.

Requirements:

- Must have a third level Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent.
- Must have excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Must have a proven ability to debug system issues, isolate problems and propose solutions.
- Must have an ability to adopt and follow best practices, working as part of a team but also the ability to work on own initiative and suggest improvements.
- Should have a minimum of 1-3 years' experience in software development experience using C#, .Net, C++, or Java.
- Should have a good knowledge of Visual Studio and source control systems.
- Should have a working knowledge of SQL.
