Biosample Operations Lab Technician Job

BIOSAMPLE OPERATIONS LAB TECHNICIAN needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in South San Francisco, CA.

Top Skills Should You Possess:
- Handling samples, including FFPE tissue
- Clinical operations

What You'll Be Doing:
Pre-Study activities (working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Coordinator):
- Review draft protocol for sample related issues (number of subjects, number of aliquots, sample type, etc.)
- Collaborate with Clinical Operations to prepare Scope of Work document for Central Lab-run studies.
- Forward any necessary supplies to sites participating in trials.
- Receive study samples via the receiving dept.
- Inventory shipment, reconcile any sample discrepancies with study team and log samples into the Electronic Sample Tracking System (ESTS) with guidance from superiors.
- Prepare samples for assay based on study needs and update the ESTS.
- Deliver samples to the appropriate assay group.
- Archive samples returned from the assay group, or if appropriate, for future additional research.
- Ship samples to vendors or sites as necessary.
- Follow user manuals and system SOPs with supervision.
- Follow appropriate GXP guidelines.
- Meet all study timelines.
- Maintain a neat working environment in laboratory work areas.
- Maintain an adequate level of supplies.
- Create simple study related ad hoc reports for customers.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- BA/BS or AS in Life Sciences or appropriate training and experience.
- Pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience
- Experience handling samples, including FFPE tissue
- Proficiency with PC computer systems, including email and calendar applications
- Basic understanding of relational database concepts and SQL query scripts
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Strong organizational, communication, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from superiors.
- Requires attention to detail and accuracy in data entry while maintaining study timelines.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, paired with partnering and performance skills.
- Team player with demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships within functional area
