Bionalytics Lab Head

We are looking for a Lab Head who will be leading a team of scientists within Biologics Technical Development and Manufacturing. This is a 1 year contract position based in Basel. There are extensions in place and this position will be most suited to someone with industrial experience as you will be releasing Drug Products for human consumption; therefore GMP experience is a must.

Responsibilities:

- You will lead a laboratory of up to 3 associates within Biologics Technical Development and Manufacturing.
- You will design, develop, validate and execute various bioanalytical assays to assess the biological activity (potency) and purity of biopharmaceuticals in clinical development.
- As well as supporting manufacturing process development, your lab will release drug substances and drug products for human use under GMP.
- A range of bioanalytical methods will be needed, including target binding assays, cell-based potency assays, immunoassays for various process-related impurities, and PCR-based assays for residual host-cell DNA.
- You will be a member of several project teams and will contribute to the preparation of clinical trial applications and registration documents.

Requirements:

. PhD and preferably postdoctoral experience in life sciences with strong background in cell biology and/or biochemistry
. Experience in development of cell-based assays and immunoassays, preferably in an industrial setting
. Knowledge and/or experience of working under GxP would be highly desirable
. Excellent communication, team and leadership skills
. Sound knowledge of English is required; knowledge of German is desirable
