Big Data Expert
The Distributed Databases team is in charge of DB2 on zOS, Oracle on Unix and MS SQL Servers on Windows as well as the Business Intelligence and Big Data infrastructures.
The team takes care of the installation, configuration of the software as well as the support of the production, test and development systems.
It also provides technical guidelines and participates in design reviews, working in close collaboration with project leaders and development teams.
It ensures the stability, performance and security of the infrastructure and manages the software versioning and patching.
ROLE:
The contractor will join the Big Data team to work on different missions
-Multi Data-center evolution of our Big Data infrastructure
-Improvement of the infrastructure in light of the roadmap of our development department (eg If a use case identifies the need for a new component in our BD infra, how to best enable it, configure it, review the technical design, make sure our Non-functional-requirements are met,.....)
-Definition of guidelines and best practices (infra usage, coding guidelines, scheduling best pratices,......)
-Help the team to improve the infrastructure and service level on the following subject :help to achieve a state - of - the - art environment that meets current and future business objectives, highest reliability and performance possible, Software installation procedure + configuration of the Servers, Release management, Upgrade/migrations of softwares, Disaster recovery plans, Security of Servers, Performance tuning
THIS IS A PART TIME JOB (AVG. 2 DAYS PER WEEK, WITH AD-HOC ADJUSTMENT ON A NEED BASIS, IN AGREEMENT WITH THE CONTRACTOR)
