Big Data Engineer - Amsterdam

For my client in Amsterdam I am currently seeking an experienced Big Data Engineer

The following skills are required for the role;

Recent experience with Hadoop projects

Develop high-quality software using MapReduce, Hbase, Yarn, Pig, Spark, and/or other parts of the Hadoop family

- Contribute strongly with enhancements to our Hadoopstorage clusters
-

Increasing further scalability and improving accessibility of our data by designing and implementing efficient data structures;

-

Supporting new use cases for our end users with new, smart, process flows and data structures;

-

Develop new mechanisms to allow for faster availability of data to our end-users, for example implementing Spark-based solutions for new and current use cases;

Provide technical support for and work closely with our system administrators maintaining our Hadoop systems

-

Provide occasional second line on-call support for our Hadoop clusters

-

Experience with Linux, Unix and Shell/Bash Scripting.
