Big Data Cloud Analytics Developer Job

BIG DATA CLOUD ANALYTICS DEVELOPERS needed for CONTRACT opportunities with Yoh's client located St. Louis, MO.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Building large-scale applications using Java and similar languages
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
- AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra or other similar Big Data technologies
- Deep understanding of Cloud Technologies (Amazon, etc.)
- Experience with more NoSQL stores (eg, MongoDB, Couchbase, Neo4J)

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Partner with other engineering teams to help architect and build the data pipeline that ingest hundreds of billions of data points for client's Field Analytics Platform utilizing AWS.
- Expand capability using various open source data processing technologies like Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, Cassandra and Neo4J into the infrastructure.
- Become an expert of AWS services that client leverages and help to efficiently integrate their big data infrastructure into the AWS cloud.
- Build services, deploy models, algorithms, perform model training and provide tools to make our infrastructure more accessible to all our data scientists.
- Enable specific initiatives to build our capabilities - from environmental classifications to Field Analytics and more.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

- S. degree plus five (5) years of experience in Computer Science or other related field. M.S. a plus.
- Five or more (5+) years of software development experience in distributed systems
- Expert in building large-scale applications using Java and similar languages
- Experience with AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra or other similar Big Data technologies
- Strong communication, collaboration and mentoring skills
- Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Agriculture, genetics, bioinformatics domain knowledge
- Operations Research modelling platforms such as ODME
- Experience with more NoSQL stores (eg, MongoDB, Couchbase, Neo4J)
- Experience with search/analytics tools (eg ElasticSearch, Solr)
- Experience working with large data sets
