Our client based in London are currently recruiting for a Bid Manager with experience in the Rail industry - specifically working within Engineering and Fleet environment.

REQUIREMENTS

- Individuals must have previous experience of managing bid services within the Rail Industry
- The individual will have some understanding of the principles of Bid Management, ideally within the Rail Industry
- Good interpersonal and communications skills are required, coupled with an ability to form effective relationships with partners under time pressure.
- Customer centric in approach, they will have the ability to recognise potential opportunities in invitations to tender.
- The individual should have a desire to continuously pursue innovation and development
- Previous experience of managing complex high value infrastructure bids in the transport sector (rail/road/air/marine).
- A good understanding of the market in which the company operates, including an awareness of competitors and new initiatives.
- Ability to apply cost/benefit analysis to all activities.
- Recognised as having advanced skills and knowledge and be able to gain agreement on mutually acceptable outcomes whilst maintaining the interests of the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Formulate and agree bid strategy with senior management
- Form relationships with the Client or their representatives to develop clear understanding of their requirements
- Bid management plans
- The bid programmes
- Decisions on major supply chain partners
- Liaison with supply chain members to formulate aspects of the bid offer
- Written technical, legal and financial contributions to bids
- Document control and register of clarification responses
- Record proceedings of meetings
- Decision on consultant selection and scopes of services
- Carry out Client intelligence gathering
