BI SPECIALIST - DATASTAGE DEVELOPER/ANALYST - UNIX - ORACLE - PL/SQL

We are currently recruiting for BI SPECIALISTS who have SIGNIFICANT BI EXPERIENCE and knowledge in the ETL TOOL (DATASTAGE), data modelling techniques, and the Iterations methodology to complete the assigned deliverables and tasks.

The BI Specialist must have knowledge of, and experience using the SQL LANGUAGE.

This role consists of an upgrade of DataStage Server code from 7.5.2 to 9.1.2, which includes Unix Scripts associated with the jobs, validating in test and migration to production.

SKILLS REQUIRED

DEVELOPMENT TOOLS

- DATASTAGE version 7.5.2 minimum - REQUIRED
- UNIX Shell Scripting (ksh, AWK, ) - REQUIRED
- AbInitio, batch, continuous and web service based development experience - Asset

DATABASE

- ORACLE 10g, Oracle P/L SQL Developer/Toad - REQUIRED
- Stored procedures
- Cost optimisation
- Competent construction of SQL queries
- Any Datamodelling tools or techniques would be of advantage
- Consideration of performance and re-usability during design and creation of interface table schemas

OTHER

- TECHNICAL DESIGN and specification experience - REQUIRED
- Process recovery concepts
- Monitoring and scheduling tools - Nice to have
- Code re-usability, shared libraries

LANGUAGES

100% FLUENT IN FRENCH AND ENGLISH. Dutch is an advantage.

JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN PURPOSE

- Assist in creating and documenting version control standards for DataStage 9.1.2 using subversion
- Assistance with performance tuning DataStage jobs
- Knowledge transfer with creating DataStage jobs that populate fact or dimension tables
- Metadata Management creation and usage best practices (DataStage)
- Code promotion best practices and development of standards (documentation)
- Overview and usage of Job Parameters (differences between 7.5.2. and 9.1.2)
- Overview and usage of Job Sequences
- Hash files (particularly to changes (if any) between 7.5.2 and 9.1.2)
