BI Solution Architect - Cognos

Leading financial organisation are seeking for a BI Solutions Architect with exceptional skills with Cognos 8/10, Data Manager, ETL, Oracle 9i or 10g, ODI, OBIEE, Business Intelligence.

The BI Solutions Architect will be responsible for the following:

-Ensuring the organisations Business Intelligence Applications (the Cognos toolset) is fit for purpose and able to respond to the organisation's current and future needs through robust standards, architecture, processes and analysis within the BI team.
-Providing support to the BI Architect in his control and sign-off of the logical and physical design models that include detailed technical and functional specifications, to ensure the Data Management and BI needs of the organisation are met in an efficient and effective way.
-Support the BI Architect by providing in-house expertise and advice on the feasibility and impact of:

Developing and enhancing of existing ETL procedures
Importing and integrating additional data sources into the existing organisation's Datawarehouse
Changing the Data Model in the Warehouse
Developing and enhancing the reporting portal

Requirements:

*Cognos DecisionStream, Data Manager, Report Studio and Framework Manager
*Experience of ETL development and implementation
*Experience of Datawarehouse design, development and delivery

Experienced with:

*Oracle 9i and/or 10g
*SQL
*Toad
*Windows XP
*Experience with Datamodelling for analysis and reporting
*Experience of working in a standard project environment
*Good interpersonal and negotiating skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve results
*Strong analytical, numeracy and communication skills
*Ability to provide expert advice to senior business and IS stakeholders on complex programmes and technical issues in a dynamic environment
*Ability to grasp issues of a business nature and assess the technical impact, and vice versa
*Experience in managing and motivating technical experts in a Matrix environment

Desirable Skills:

*Other knowledge such as Metric Studio and Event Studio
*Exposure to ODI and/or OBIEE
*Datawarehouse performance tuning
