BI/Datawarehouse Developer

Our client is currently looking for an experienced BI/Datawarehouse Developer. As a Database Analyst/Developer, you will be required to work as part of a team dedicated to developing and maintaining an SQL Server database application that is designed to meet some complex billing and reporting requirements. Your main focus will be on the design, development and implementation of complex reporting functionality over large volume transactional databases and deployment to a large number of database solutions.

KEY FUNCTIONS WILL INCLUDE:

- Analyse complex customer problems and requirements and design appropriate solutions.
- Work closely with other teams to deliver multiple customer solutions efficiently and within a timeframe.
- Research, propose and implement appropriate reporting solutions.

MANDATORY SKILLS

- experience with SQL Server T-SQL programming, writing Stored Procedures, Triggers and Views.
- experience with SQL Server 2008.
- experience using T-SQL and MDX to produce datasets for Business Intelligence purposes.
- A good understanding of SQL Server architecture and the integration of the various SQL Server components, Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services.
- A good understanding of Datawarehouse concepts including database and cube design, ETL processing and reporting.
- A good Understanding of SQL Server Service Broker.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

- In-depth understanding of systems development (SDLC) and database application development methodology.
- Proven ability to conduct face to face customer/internal meetings.
- Experience working with Team Foundation Server as a source control and deployment tool.
- Experience working with .NET assemblies and CLR stored procedures.
- Attention to detail, pro-active and ability to identify potential threats/weaknesses and cover off before they eventuate.
- Analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to research and to apply problem-solving skills to complex technical problems.
- Basic understanding about new features of SQL Server 2012.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience
- Microsoft Certification in SQL Server is highly desirable
