Bench Scientist

SUMMARY:

- The successful candidate will work on biological sample preparations, routine LC-MS operations, data analysis, and report generations for measuring the concentration and flux of metabolic intermediates.
- The successful candidate will work and make key contributions in a nurturing, dynamic scientific environment with multi-disciplinary teams for exciting exploratory projects.
- Maintain/develop/optimize/validate targeted and un-targeted LC-MS/MS methods to ultimately assess rates and concentrations of metabolites/biomarkers in biological samples.
- Maintain/develop/optimize/validate LC-MS based metabolic flux studies with isotopic tracers.
- Develop/optimize/validate Mass Spec compatible sample preparations from biological matrices including cells, tissues etc.
- Conduct routine data analysis including LC peak integration, data fitting, differential MS feature analysis, and report writings/data uploading.
- Be flexible in cross scientific field studies.
- To perform upkeep and routine maintenance Mass Spec instruments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- A successful candidate must have strong passion and commitment to science in a time sensitive industry setting.
- The candidate needs to have strong biological science background/strong hands-on experiment skills with good understanding in mass spectrometry applications.
- Previous experience in analytical instruments in general is a plus.
- Strong will of learning and advancing in the scientific field is a must.
- The preferred candidate will have good communications in a collaborative team environment.

PREFERRED:

- Good knowledge/concept/experience in daily maintenance and method development for MS and biological sample preparation is preferred.
- Strong passion and commitment dedicated to lab bench work is absolutely needed.
- Good hands-on scientific experiment skills in biological science field with emphasis in analytical fields.
