BCBS 239 Data Analyst - London - Contract - Circa £500 - £600/day (Datamodelling, Data lineage) and SQL

This is a Data Analyst role within the Risk Control Operations team with primary responsibility for ensuring that the Data Management deliverables within the BCBS 239 principles are delivered to ensure that the firm achieves a day 1 compliance state.

This role will form part of the London-based BCBS 239 team within the Risk Control Operations team within the Risk COO function.

Risk COO is required to ensure that the Banks Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Data Reporting are compliant with the principles issued under BCBS 239.

This position requires an appropriately qualified individual to support the BCBS 239 scope management, data lineage and traceability analysis for both the IB and WM divisions across Market and Credit Counterparty Risk. In addition input into defining both technical and business data quality rules to be applied to attribute level data will be required, alongside managing and remediating the resulting exceptions.

The individual will be required to very work closely with Risk Control teams' and partner effectively with various IT, and stakeholders across other control functions, Middle Office and Front Office.

Your role will include:

- Scope management and decomposition of Risk Metrics into their component attributes
- Support the definition of Key Data Attributes as part of the creation of a group-wide Data Dictionary
- Management of the Group-Wide Data Dictionary
- Establishing data lineage and traceability of data through the front to back and providing the overlaying the controls information.
- Defining the Data quality rules, analysing exceptions, documenting and on-boarding the exception reports to the RTB teams.
- Liaising with stakeholders: Risk Control, Control Functions, Middle Office, Front Office and IT to understand and document current state
- Supporting the definition of target state
- Programme Management support responsibilities including maintenance of issues/action logs etc.

Job Requirements:

You are:

- An effective verbal and written communicator, fluent in English, spoken and written
- Experienced in banking, preferably within a Risk Control function.
- Understand and have experience of the BCBS 239 principles and requirements or have similar data and control framework experience
- SQL experience is essential
- Experienced in data management and front to back data flows.
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in Excel and MS Access
- A fast learner with the ability to get up to speed quickly with new processes and IT applications/infrastructure
- Outgoing and personable, with the confidence to deal with varied groups of stakeholders and differing levels of seniority
- Able to work to tight deadlines and handle business pressures
- Highly organised, with the ability to balance numerous tasks and responsibilities
- A University graduate, preferably with Business/Maths/Economics/Finance background.
