Banking SQL/UNIX Application Support Analyst x2

We currently require at least two Banking SQL/UNIX Application Support Analysts with following requirements:

Role:

Two support analysts are needed to provide a portfolio of services including but not limited to first and second level support to the IT Risk business users (business and IT people). The support analyst will provide support on a number of in-house developed and/or third party applications used by IT Credit business.

Responsibilities:

- The candidate will be part of production support team based in Zurich and is expected to deliver following services.
- Develop a thorough understanding of function and importance of Risk IT office and in particular the Credit Risk applications.
- Provide timely and quality support to the issues reported against Risk IT/Credit Risk applications.
- Able to communicate effectively with local and potentially remote users/colleagues to discuss and understand the issue.
- Demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proactively monitor scheduled jobs, batches, identify the area of improvements eg automating manual monitoring processes and implement them.
- Proactively monitor and manage the OLA and SLA between IT to IT and IT to business.
- Able to communicate delays of batches/jobs to user and senior management proactively.
- Able to escalate critical and high priority issues to senior management both horizontally and vertically.
- Able to complete root cause analysis and detailed investigation of issue in agreed time.

Technical Skills Required:

- At least 3 years of IT experience and min of 2 years of experience providing application support in the banking/finance industry (preferably investment banking).
- Extensive knowledge of Unix, Shell Scripting, SQL, Databases and web technology
- Investment Banking/Financial knowledge
- Proactive, can do attitude combined with strong communication skills.
- Quick learning, self-starter with ability to perform with minimal supervision.
- Thorough understanding and practical experience of ITIL processes and guidelines
- Understanding of Credit Risk business and systems preferred. Quick learning, self starter with ability to perform with minimal supervision.
