Banking Application Support - with Unix and Database Know-How - Englis

For a global bank based here in Zürich we are searching for a Banking Application Support Analyst to join the team.

THE JOB:

- An interesting role in the CRO IT production support team. This team provides a portfolio of services, which includes 2nd level support for the CRO business users
- Develop a thorough understanding of the CRO IT environment
- IT SUPPORT FOR THE ISSUES REPORTED AGAINST CRO IT APPLICATIONS AND RESOLVE THEM IN A TIMELY MANNER
- Monitoring of scheduled batch jobs, as well as the identification of process improvements (eg automation of the manual monitoring process)
- Responsibility for the OLAs and SLAs between IT to IT and IT to business
- Proactive communication of batch job delays to users and senior management
- Escalation of critical and high priority issues to the senior management
- Full root cause analysis and a detailed investigation of issues in the agreed time
- Ownership for the IT/incident tickets open in the area of responsibility
- SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT FOR ONE OR MORE APPLICATIONS IN THE APPLICATION PORTFOLIO
- Strong collaboration with the application development teams and the other relevant interfaces

WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WITH:

- IDEALLY 5 YEARS' PLUS EXPERIENCE IN A APPLICATION SUPPORT ROLE IDEALLY IN FRONT OR MIDDLE OFFICE IN A BANK
- Some Banking/Finance/Risk knowledge is required
- Practical experience with Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting - we do not need a Systems Administrator but you must be able to do the basics for example remove commands
- Experience with SQL (ideally Oracle/Sybase) - you do not need to be a developer but you must be able to join tables, select tables and know SQL

NICE TO HAVE EXPERIENCE:

- Batch/Control-M experience is a strong plus
- ITIL V3 certificate is a strong plus
- Knowledge of multiple technologies is an advantage: Excel, VBA, C#/ASP.NET, Java, C++
- Skills in Incident-/Problem-, Release- and Change Management (from a production perspective)
- Good understanding of monitoring modelling/practices
- Ability to do on-call duty and for working in non-peak hours (bank holidays/weekends)
- Excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus
