BPSS (DS) - Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland)

DEADLINE FOR THIS ROLE IS 2ND JUNE AT 12:00.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify, assess and monitor compliance risks and enhance controls
Coordinate day-to-day interactions between Compliance and external parties
Engage appropriately with regulators and law enforcement agencies
Capture, analyse and advise on any complaints received
Support development, implementation and maintenance of key Compliance monitoring and reporting tools
Lead continuous measuring and monitoring of Compliance
Produce regular and ad hoc Compliance reports
Develop, implement and oversee an internal anti-fraud policy and associated controls
Oversee end-to-end regulatory reporting, collaborating closely with Finance and other functions
Project manage initiatives with regard to regulatory approval for new products, collaborating with all stakeholders

The successful candidate
Must be able to deal with Senior Business personnel, and communicate messages in a clear and concise manner
Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must as advice given must be clear, timely and appropriately delivered.
Must work well under pressure
Is able to manage time and work load effectively to ensure that longer term projects/initiatives are successfully driven forward.
Must have writing skills capable of producing clear, concise policies and procedures.
Must possess good mediation skills and have a sense of diplomacy
Must have good analytical and investigative skills
Must be enthusiastic for new challenges, able to demonstrate judgment and decision making, but understand when to escalate issues
Able to consider issues from multiple viewpoints, eg the business, the customer or service- or product-user, the regulator, and the Department for Business, Skills and Innovation, and take a balanced view
Professional finance and or risk certifications will be considered as an advantage.

Key tasks and deliverables

Job Description

Principal duties and responsibilities
Support MD Risk & Compliance in implementing the BBB compliance framework including managing and updating compliance policies and procedures
Work with the businesses and risk colleagues to identify, assess and monitor compliance risks and enhance controls
Coordinate day-to-day interactions between Compliance and other BBB units and external parties, providing high quality analysis and advice on compliance, AML and regulatory issues
Engage appropriately with regulators and law enforcement agencies
Capture, analyse and advise on any complaints received
Support development, implementation and maintenance of key Compliance monitoring and reporting tools
Lead continuous measuring and monitoring of Compliance across all BBB units, by facilitating collation of all information from departments responsible and BBB Risksupport Head of Risk & Compliance in developing overarching perspective/value-add commentary where needed
Work with Risk and Audit for the oversight of 3rd parties
Develop and conduct regular and ad hoc training on AML and Compliance-related topics jointly with Risk & Compliance Director, HR, and business teams Analyse and assess new regulatory initiatives for their impact on BBB
Support to the MLRO (MD Risk and Compliance) in identifying and investigating potential AML issues
Develop, implement and oversee an internal anti-fraud policy and associated controls
Oversee end-to-end regulatory reporting, collaborating closely with Finance and other functions
Project manage initiatives with regard to regulatory approval for new products, collaborating with all stakeholders

Experience Required

The ideal candidate should have
Experience of working in a senior role in a central compliance team within a Commercial Bank
A good understanding of solutions and products related to investments, wholesale, lending, equity, etc.
Knowledge of UK and European Securities regulation and the ability to provide a practical interpretation of regulations in the context of the firm's business activities.
Working knowledge of EU State Aid requirements
Strong interpersonal skills that will allow them to build and maintain effective working relationships both within the Risk & Compliance function, but also across BBB's businesses.
Thorough understanding of Compliance concepts/frameworks, standards, techniques and tools including strong knowledge in the following areas: PRA and FCA regulation, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, AML, Anti-Fraud, Complaints, Conflicts Management
