Backup DR

Description
As a backup DR you will be responsible for supporting existing storage, backup and DR systems and technologies, and implementing strategic solutions to stated business challenges. You will be working in a distributed private cloud environment.
Core accountabilities
- Implementing hardware/software solutions to enhance or extend the enterprise SAN, storage, and backup infrastructures
- Developing and producing capacity and performance management reports and devising solutions or recommendations to maximize efficiencies in all areas
- Implementing release schedules to ensure that all hardware and software are on current versions and patch levels
- Capacity management, coordination and implementation of new systems, upgrades, and scheduled maintenance of storage technologies
- Maintaining and testing disaster recovery for critical business applications/systems
- Overseeing the purchase of hardware, software, and technical services, and maintaining storage and backup infrastructure inventories
- Providing operational and technical support for the entire storage environment
- Provisioning, managing, maintaining, and de-provisioning of storage volumes/LUNs to support server deployment activities
- Administering, installing, supporting, and monitoring on-line and backup archive storage systems
- Setting up and maintaining client backups and restoring data from backups.
Essential qualities
- 2-5 years experience in Information Technology in distributed data center environment
- Linux system administration experience
- Extensive backup troubleshooting experience
- Performance monitoring
- Virtual backup management
- Tape libraries management
- Netvault backup
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team player
Desirable qualities
- VMware, working with vCenter platform
- Nagios monitoring
- Java/Groovy development
- Degree level or equivalent
- Oracle administration concepts

- Experience with outsourced Data Centre solutions
- language: English (and preferably knowledge of Dutch or French)
