Back End Developer

My client is currently looking for a BACK END WEB DEVELOPER to join their team immediately on an initial 6 month contract.

We are looking for a true performer that is able to work in a challenging environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Development (coding) and maintenance of applications utilising the following: technologies, Web Services (SOAP/REST), Java/JSP or C#/ASP.NET, JavaScript, XML/XSL/XSD and JSON
- On time delivery of Robust and Functional Back End web services that have been developed using Unit Testing methodologies and built using a Continuous Integration approach
- Contribute to the Design and Implementation of Performance Testing of web based applications
- Management of source code version control utilising a Source Control repositories such as GIT or equivalent
- Delivery of Modular, Object Oriented, and Responsive web applications

SKILLS NEEDED:

- Demonstrated extensive experience in Back End Object Oriented web application development in a large and complex/diverse service industry organisation, including relevant qualifications or equivalent. This includes strong knowledge and practical experience in the development of Web Services (REST and SOAP APIs), and utilization of the following technologies, XML/XSL/XSD, JSON, Unit Testing, Continual Integration.
- Solid understanding of Object Oriented Design, MVC, Web APIs, Database programming, with demonstrated experience in at least two of the following, JAVA/JSP or C#/ASP.NET, oAuth, Oracle, WebSphere, Linux.
- Demonstrated understanding of the full software development life cycle, including demonstrated experience with issue tracking, version control (Git preferred) as well as formalised testing and build processes (any experience with JUnit/NUnit, ANT, Maven, Hudson/Jenkins an advantage).
- Experience in performance tuning and the optimisation web applications, including practical knowledge of load/performance testing.
- Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment
- Capacity and willingness, including current NSW driver's license, to travel to business and service locations throughout NSW, which may include overnight stay in regional/remote areas.
