Baan ERP Financial Accounting Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Document accounting flow starting from inventory procurement to finished goods showing clearly the calculations at every step. No documentation currently exists to support accounting flow in the Baan system.
- Create custom reports for account reconciliation purpose. No report exists to support certain account balances (eg Current WIP (work in progress) report is not currently adding up to logical accounting flow).
- Document and create report for variance account calculations showing clearly the accounting flow.
- Investigate, document and recommend Remedy for trail balance changes for a given period even after the book is closed.
- Create specific custom reports by item, by operational rate code, and by operational rates.
- Analyze the current security protocol of financial data. Recommend and provide a solution on how to lock the data by specific time, user, function etc.
- Design and document the audit trail for Journal Entries in general ledger - who made changes and when. Create a mechanism to lock down the sub-ledger at the end of a given period. Access restriction and audit trail of who is making what kind of changes in the system do not exist. A mechanism is needed to lock down the sub-ledger at the end of any period.
- Create detailed custom inventory reports - WIP, Raw Materials, and Finished Goods.
- Provide answers regarding Baan to SAP financial data mapping queries, in order to facilitate a smooth transition from Baan to SAP/remote.

SKILLS:

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

- At least 15 years of Baan IV-c4 ERP system experience and deep understanding of all the interconnected modules, specifically within a manufacturing environment.
- At least 5 years of Baan accounting module experience within manufacturing environment.
- Significant experience in Baan accounting module design and implementation.
- Experience in documenting accounting flow within an ERP system.
- Ability to identify/understand business requirements and provide recommendation/solutions.
- Ability to quickly investigate issues, create custom reports within Baan, and provide clear data mapping/flow.
- CMA/CPA certification is preferred.
