AWS Sysops Engineer

My Client is currently looking for an experience AWS SysOps Engineer to help grow their AWS platform. You will work alongside multiple development teams and be self-motivated and able to actively contribute new ideas to the platform utilisation, AWS implementation and design.

SKILLS

- Hands on experience using AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, EMR, ELB, Cloudwatch, CloudTrial, SNS, ElasticBeanstalk)
- Good understanding of AWS Security (CPV, IAM, EC2 Roles, S3 & SQS policies)
- Hands-on experience with AWS deployment (Chef/Puppet, Cloud Formation)
- Cloud design for scalability, elasticity and high availability
- Experience in maintaining Linux Servers/virtual machines
- Experience in working in agile teams using methodologies such as scrum

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work with developers to ensure the server environments are implemented properly
- Prepare and maintain system architecture documentation, status logs and reports
- Monitor system usage/performance, plan and forecast future capacity needs.
- Lead/contribute to infrastructure, design and cloud services decisions
- Create and maintain backup strategy including creating AMIs and snapshots and purging old backups.
- Create and maintain custom AMIs for Hardend OSs
- Create and maintain automated deployments and builds of applications and software (chef recipes)
- Manage and maintain the cloud environment and the security of the VPC.(security groups, subnets, ACLs)
