AWS Devops Engineer Job

AWS DEVOPS ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Rolling Meadows, IL.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Live and breathe Infrastructure Automation
- Work with the IT Development to refine and clarify requirements for development process automation
- Display a strong understanding of Cloud-as-a-Service varieties: PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS
- Rock with container runtime, (Docker, Rocket, Puppet),
- Contain registration and automated deployment, (Docker, Enterprise Registry, etc.),
- And perform automated build, testing, and deployment, (Jenkins/Hudson).

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Define strategy level architectures (business domain target and capability architectures)
- OSS tools and development experience in one or more of the following popular OSS: C, C++, Java, PHP, Python, JavaScript, Perl, C# etc.
- Pull strings with Puppet and cook some recipes up with Chef; (at least have CM through some version control).
- Mentor delivery team technical leads and developers
- Ability to work closely with developers, test automation and performance specialists, release management and infrastructure specialist
- Technical problem solving skills
- Supports development of process automation initiatives and projects
- Effectively communicate guideline and tool usage to IT Development and other IT team members
- Participate in planning discussions with development and other IT teams.
- Maintain expertise in the area of architecture, including industry trends, strategies, and products to ensure that our assets are effectively and efficiently utilized
- Execute Proof of Concepts on behalf of DevOps, CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous deployment) practice, assessing new products and methods, developing and implementing appropriate practices across multiple development environments
- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvement to CI/CD processes
- Design, document and help optimize the CI/CD strategies in order to reduce costs while ensuring quality

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology, or military experience
- Two (2) years of AWS experience using EC2, Cloud Formation, Cloud Watch
- Two (2) years of experience in one or more Scripting Languages: CHEF, Docker, Puppet, Ruby, Perl, Python,
- Two (2) years of experience with Continuous Integration tool sets including one of more of the following: Hudson, Jenkins, Maven, Sonar, GitHub, AnthillPro, uBuild, ANT, NANT
- Two (2) years of experience with Continuous Deployment tool sets: uDeploy
- Two (2) years of experience with Tools such as: Nexus, Git, MSTest, SoapUI, Quality Center, HP ALM, other unit and acceptance testing tools
- At least two (2) years of experience with a formal configuration management tool, using Subversion, Git, TFS, or ClearCase
- Two (2) years of experience in one or more of the following Technologies: Java, Apache Tomcat, UNIX/Linux, WebSphere, WebLogic

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology
- Three plus (3+) years of experience in design and development of Service Oriented Architectural solutions
- Three plus (3+) years of experience developing automation workflows/routines using industry leading tools, including Open Source Tools (Chef/Puppet/Hudson), or Vendor Based Tools (HPSA/OO, vCAC, uDeploy)
- Two plus (2+) years of experience using cloud based hosting solutions (AWS-EC2/S3, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Two plus (2+) years of experience designing and developing automated application builds and deployments.
- Understanding the interworking's of Linux/UNIX or Apache Tomcat
