AVP Java Developer Position in Financial Company

AVP Java Developer Position at a leading global financial information services company.

This leading client is seeking a successful Java Developer to work on software for financial applications, especially handling market data capture and distribution, web front-end, technology infrastructure, computational distributed grid for its Portfolio Valuations department.

This department provides post-trade and independent valuation services to buy-side institutions internationally - covering all asset classes. You will be working within a team of 15 developers, being offered world-class training for the financial aspects of the job.

This position requires someone with an excellent academic record, strong experience working on distributed Java platforms in core Java 5 / 6 (with good understanding of multithreading and performance tuning). You should have experience working with a relational database management system e.g. Oracle / SQL Server. Aside from these key technical skills, any other developing experience is a plus as you will be working with a large array of technologies in this position e.g. Unix/Linux, Spring, Hibernate, JUnit 4, Apache Tomcat, JBOSS, JMX/ JMS, Eclipse?

If you do not have experience working in financial markets you should at least be able to show a strong interest in this field. You should be a highly analytical and conscientious individual - with excellent attention to detail.
