Automotive Project Engineers - Woking, UK - ASAP - 6 months - £25-30 per hour

Opportunity Description
We now have a fantastic opportunity for a talented Project Engineer, specialising in Body Exteriors, Interiors or Body panels to join our team based in Woking, UK

Key Responsibilities
* Provide Technical Project Management to the Body Exteriors, Interiors or Body Panels team in collaboration with Designer Engineers, Project Leads and the Technical Management Team.
* Reporting to the Function Group Manager/Program Manager, work on all aspects of Body Exteriors, Interiors or Body Panels delivery on our future vehicle programmes.
* Lead a cross functional team to collectively deliver the whole vehicle specification targets
* Management of component and system level delivery at each project milestone, including styling feasibility
* Closely working with the Design Engineers to identify and specify design activity required, interpret requirements of the Design Engineers, estimate time to complete and construct a work plan that supports the release schedule
* Co-ordinate
* Prepare and implement DFMEA requirements for significant and critical characteristics and ensure the design satisfies these to meet all targets;
* Engineering Release - Define and meet all engineering release dates to support program timing.
* DFMEA actions will be resolved and all outstanding BCR's (Build Concern Reports) embodied and documented at the point of release;
* Engineering Change Management through the release phase
* Management of Engineering BOM Management
* Meeting the Cost
* 10+ years of previous experience of OEM in component and system management utilising all of the key attributes, with a demonstrable record of delivery of the accountabilities;
* Proven leadership of design and cross-functional teams;
* Experience with any of the following systems
* Front Floors, Washer Bottle, WAL & Bumpers
* Under bonnet, LTR Ducts, Ducts & Diffuser
* Fuel filler, Glazing, HVAC, Brackets/Grilles, Badges, Foams, NVH, Hoses
* A strong track record of delivering designs to timing, weight and cost targets;
* Supplier management, comfortable with understanding and implementing DFM requirements within the project scope;
* Mechanical or Automotive Engineering Degree
* Background in low volume, high performance sports or racing cars preferred;
* Documentation of Technical Specifications, DFMEA, DVP, Timing Plans, Minutes and Actions of Meetings;
* CATIA V5 2D/3D skills desirable but not essential.
