Automation Tester

Experienced Automation Tester required to work a 6 month contract.

The right candidate will be expected to:

a.To write & execute automation test scripts via VB Scripts (and not via the Record and Play Back).
b.To write & execute manual test scripts using HP ALM 11.5
c.To attend requirements workshops and/or reference requirements, specifications, user documentation and other project documentation to write detailed automation and manual scripts as appropriate
d.To automate Oracle Apex Applications, .NET Applications and COTS products.
e.To install, configure and integrate HP ALM with HP QTP/UFT.
f.To provide the Development Team with accurate estimates for task duration and to Liaise with the Development Team to attempt to resolve technical issues.
g.To assist user representatives to write user stories and define test cases
h.To create and update user guides and other project documentation as appropriate for software applications under test.
i.To liaise with the test team via Lead Test to maintain a common repository of automation test scripts.
j.To maintain good working links with the wider AIS Test team in order to deliver in line with AIS standards, principles.

It is essential the selected incumbent has the following skills:
a.Demonstrable ability to embrace change, collaborate well with both technical and business people and understands the concepts of using tests to document requirements and drive developments
b.Results-oriented, collaborative, eager to learn and passionate about delivering business value in a timely manner
c.Demonstrable ability to develop and maintain clear and concise documentation to a high professional standard.
d.Competency and proven ability in the use of HP ALM 11 to complete, test cases, execution of tests and defect tracking.
e.Extensive experience of test automation tools.
f.Competency and proven ability in executing test scripts/scenarios, as well as complex installation guides.
g.The capacity and self-motivation required to meet the demands of the tight timelines and rapidly evolving priorities.
h.Excellent communication and co-ordination skills.
i.The ability to resolve technical issues using first principles or experience.

6.Desired Skills. It is desired that the individual has:
a.ISEB Foundation/Practitioner Qualification.
b.Experience of working on agile projects
c.Experience of working within a defence environment.
d.Have experience in scoping the types of testing and effort required to deploy each application.
e.Have previous Development experience.

Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply. Please note successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment which can take up to a minimum 10 weeks.
