Automation Engineer

AUTOMATION ENGINEER HILLSBORO, OR 6 MONTH CONTRACT

The Automation Engineer will write/modify/maintain test software and work with test hardware for new consumer Phone and Tablet type products.

OVERVIEW:

- Work closely and proactively with the test engineering group to develop test solutions for both board level and system level products in a production environment.
- Sustain product tests to keep in step with product changes and requirements.
- Review schematics and specifications for hardware and software requirements.
- Troubleshoot software and hardware to root cause product and test related issues.
- Validate test solutions.
- Develop and write test plans.
- Conduct test plan reviews.
- Present out status and solutions to peers and manager.
- Work well in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
- Meet challenging goals in a timely manner.
- Function well in a virtual team environment, yet be successful working in a self-directed work environment.

REQUIRED:

- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in CS; CE or EE with 5+ years industry experience or 10 years of equivalent experience
- Experience in the high-tech industry related to testing of phone/tablet/computer type circuit board and system assemblies
- C/C++ programming, Python, Perl or other Scripting language experience
- Experience in developing software, including software design, validation, coding and debug
- Practical experience writing program interfaces to test hardware and instrumentation (Examples are USB, TCPIP, COM ports, GPIB devices, RF spectrum analyzers, test fixtures, power supplies, etc.)
- Ability to read circuit schematics ODM/OEM experience a plus
- Linux, Android, Windows application and device driver programming experience
- NI Test Stand experience a plus
- Any of the following a plus: Camera, Audio and RF experience using WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS
