I am looking to hire a Assurance Officer for one of my public sector client.

Please read the below job specification:

CLEARANCE REQUIRED: THE MINIMUM LEVEL OF CLEARANCE PRIOR TO STARTING IS SC CLEARANCE.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
Working under the direction of the Assurance Lead Officer, responsible for the delivery of independent (non-financial) audit and inspection activity that ensures operational and organisational systems, policies and processes are correctly applied and fit for purpose. To make recommendations for improvement following Continuous Improvement principles.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: PRACTITIONER
1. Conduct Audit and Inspection activity using agreed methodology to make risk assessed recommendations for improvement.

2. Produce audit and inspection reports containing analysis and findings.

3. Engage with staff from business areas in a constructive and supportive manner, being prepared to challenge where necessary, ensuring audit findings are translated into recommendations and action plans to provide a baseline for making improvements and managing organisational risk.

4. Provide advice and guidance on Audit and Inspection policy, procedure, data quality, systems and process issues. Assist business system owners with the development and maintenance of effective information systems, practices and procedures.

5. Assist business areas with the coordination of their self-inspection activity ensuring that such processes include appropriate monitoring and quality assurance.

6. Undertake a range of research activities that require analysis skills and the identification and collection of relevant data using research techniques.

7. To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

KNOWLEDGE:
Educated to A Level/NVQ Level 3
A sound knowledge of audit and inspection methodology and quality assurance systems
A sound working knowledge of relevant legislation (eg the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998, Management of Police Information (MOPI), the Freedom of Information Act 2000, and the ACPO Data Protection Manual of Guidance).

EXPERIENCE:

Significant experience of all assurance activity including the development of risk assessments, inspection and audit methodology.

KEY SKILLS:
Excellent verbal communication skills, having the ability to challenge where appropriate in order to meet organisational objectives.
Analytical and problem solving skills
Proven written communication skills and report writing.
