Associate Scientist/Scientist Job

ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST/SCIENTIST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in CAMBRIDGE, MA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- He/she will be dedicated to the design, development and evaluation of candidate vaccine formulations against infectious diseases.
- Hands-on responsibilities will include assay development, analytical characterization of formulations and supply of formulations for in vitro/vivo testing.
- Ensures timely sharing of information and ensures accuracy of information provided.
- Takes major responsibility (with some supervision) for the data, results, discussion and conclusion of the assigned studies.
- Contributes to scientific discussions and effectively reports content of discussions (eg presentations, publications).
- Reviews and/or authors laboratory journals.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- MS or Ph.D. in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or related discipline with three to five (3-5) years (MS) or zero to two (0-2) (Ph.D) of laboratory research experience.
- Hands-on responsibilities will include assisting in the development of new vaccine delivery systems, assay development and supply of formulations for in vitro/vivo testing.
- Expertise in Assay development to allow antigen and adjuvant stability evaluations (HPLC, SEC, WB, Gels, Experion etc.).
- The candidate must have a working knowledge of various analytical methods used during the development of pharmaceutical products such as HPLC, particle sizing, LCMS, spectroscopic techniques and SDS PAGE gels.
- Able to work independently and take scientific direction from senior scientists.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience working with recombinant proteins and nucleic acids is desired.
- Previous experience in formulation and characterization with an understanding of formulation procedures and protocols is desired.
