ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST/SCIENTIST IN BIOCHEMISTRY needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Bedford, MA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Scientist to work on the development and execution of enzyme activity and ligand binding assays in a dynamic drug discovery environment.
- Characterize basic biochemical and catalytic properties of recombinant enzymes and their interactions with small molecule inhibitors including mechanism of action.
- Develop, optimize, validate, trouble shoot and execute biochemical assays.
- Analyze and report results to the corporate database and project teams.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- B.S. in biochemistry or related fields
- Experience in designing and carrying out plate-based biochemical assays, both kinetic and binding, and comfortable with the analysis of enzyme kinetic data and binding isotherms is required.
- An understanding of basic enzymology is highly desired.
- Solid quantitative skills are essential.
- Ability to independently generate precise, reliable data and skillfully analyze the data is required.
- Extensive experience in kinase assays is strongly preferred.
- Experience with automated liquid handling systems is a strong plus.
- Ability to function independently within project teams.
- Ability to reliably execute on team responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Strong organization skills.
- A high degree of self-motivation fueled by a fundamental interest in contributing to science in general, and drug discovery in particular.
