Background
Our client, a large government body are currently recruiting for an Associate Project Manager to be based nr Salisbury, to start in July 2013 for a 2 year contract. Due to the nature of this role, it is highly desirable that you hold valid Security Clearance. Our client is seeking a well organised and enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills to provide consistent high quality support to Project Mangers through the management and co-ordination of project data throughout the project life cycle.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include: In the absence of the Project Manager to act as first point of contact for internal requests relating to project documentation. Assist in the preparation of project documentation as required eg bids, plans, procurement etc. Co-ordinate and attend reviews with all relevant staff and maintain a co-ordinated schedule of planned reviews throughout the project life cycle. Provide an accurate record of meeting outputs and act as the interface to monitor progress and ensure actions are completed in a timely manner. Monitor financial data, bringing forward issues for review, and propose way forward/mitigation, to enable accurate forecasting and financial control. Organise and maintain project filing system, ensuring all necessary corporate documentation as defined in the Management System is available as required, highlighting any issues to the PM. Plan, prepare and review project reporting documentation, bringing forward issues arising for resolution and capturing lessons learned. Liaise with the Management Accountant in respect of financial issues which would include project set-up, accruals and closure.

Skills/Experience Required
Previous experience of Associate Project Manager work and a good track record in supporting Project Managers. Evidence of a good understanding of financial processes and reporting systems. Evidence of good communication and interpersonal skills. High level of expertise in using Microsoft Office Software products, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Formal Qualifications Required
Essential: Evidence of a good standard of general education eg GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths at Grade C or above.

Desirable: Professional project management training
