Associate Chemist

SUMMARY

- We provide fundamental understanding and problem solving to environmental, refining and catalyst manufacture businesses.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for sample preparation, on-time spectroscopic spectral collection and first step spectral analysis, to help her/his supervisor on the advanced analytic projects.
- The candidate will be expected to handle multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced analytical chemistry laboratory.

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS

- BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related discipline.
- At least one year of experience in research lab.
- Demonstrated abilities in setting up equipment, keeping a notebook, interpreting results and sharing information.
- Expected to have academic knowledge and training in basic inorganic, or analytical chemistry principles, procedures and theories.
- Knowledge of catalysis would also be a plus.
- Knowledge in and/or experience of FTIR and UV-Vis.
- Must work well both independently and as a team member.
- Excellent laboratory skills, including knowledge of safe handling of chemicals, cryogens and equipment
- Candidates should be familiar with spectroscopic techniques
- Expected to work independently with minimum supervision as well as part of an international team
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, and aptitude to learn other data processing software
