Assoc/Full Professor Radiobiology

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Miami/Miller School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a Radiobiologist at the Associate or Full Professor level with a strong research background to join our faculty. Applicants must have a PhD, MD or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellence in molecular biology and/or experimental therapeutics. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an independent basic and/or translational research program with special emphasis on signaling pathways or targeted therapies tied to radiation response. Although a genitourinary disease site emphasis is preferred, expertise in other disease sites will be considered. The ideal candidate would have leadership experience, overseeing a lab with post-docs, and other lab personnel. The individual would be expected to contribute to the core missions of the department: basic discovery, translational research and teaching. The department has experienced significant growth in research and clinical funding over the last four years and is looking to continued development of the research enterprise. There are rich opportunities for collaboration in the department and cancer center. The department has four physician scientists, 12 other clinical faculty, 10 physicists, and 8 trainees currently. The rank, track, and salary of the position are commensurate with the length, breadth and depth of experience.
