Assistant Revenue Accountant

An exciting opportunity as an Assistant Revenue Accountant is now available with of one of Europe's leading airlines. Based at the head office of this FTSE 100 E-commerce company in Luton.

In this role, you will be tasked with fully owning the business' credit card ledger which you will need to reconcile on a monthly basis. Coupled with this you will be required to produce a credit card reconciliation report, post payfiles, and match cash received in the bank with corresponding payfiles. You will be required to carry out the in-depth analysis of related charges (such as merchant fees, payment process and chargebacks) with the contracted rates needing to be compared to merchant fees in coordination with Treasury. Furthermore, overpayments of merchant fees and cash underpayments will need to be successfully recovered and it will be your responsibility to ensure this happens.

You will be looking at data files containing booking details, investigating and explaining any variances. The role will be very Excel based so you'll need to have excellent attention to detail and be able to use Excel to an intermediate level (ie use of pivot tables and v-lookups) and need to be methodical, logical and self-motivating.

To be considered for this role you will need to have the following skills/experience;

- You should be a graduate with professional accounting qualifications (AAT, part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Possess advanced MS Office skills including extensive knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Should be able to understand credit card payment and reconciliation process
- Able to identify material issues from multiple sources and be able to produce accurate analysis to a granular level
- Effectively manage your time across a variety of tasks and issues in order to deliver to deadlines
- You will need good communication skills as you'll be dealing with internal and external entities such as customer services, banks, IT and the internal treasury department to name a few.
