Assistant Accountant

An Assistant Accountant is now required to assist this FTSE 100 company due to peak workload around year end activities. Your role will be to use your Excel knowledge to identify variances in invoices and liaise with internal and external parties to resolve these queries.

The specific duties and responsibilities of the role may include the following tasks;

- Maintain accuracy of rates in model to generate correct monthly accruals, forecasts and budgets.
- Apply control processes surrounding rate updates & postback entries/balance sheet management
- Review and update accuracy of models used such that monthly 'postbacks' to ledger are progressively reduced.
- Analyse invoices ensuring that they have been raised and coded correctly. Liaise with internal or external contacts where errors are identified.
- Ensure accuracy of billing from suppliers and where necessary ensure that any errors are quickly identified and recovered.
- Liaise with relevant analyst/procurement manager/country manager on a timely basis reporting on differences found.

This role would suit a part qualified candidate with some hands on commercial experience in a finance related role who has a good understanding of Excel and is confident in dealing with people both face to face and over the phone.
