AS400 System Engineer/Automotive Industry Experience

We are hiring for AS400 SYSTEM ENGINEER role at BRUSSELS, BELGIUM for one our reputed client.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR AS400 SYSTEM ENGINEER:

Support Regional IT teams with troubleshooting and maintaining the AS400 environment.
Hardware installation, upgrades and management
Software Product installations and management
AS400 Disk capacity monitoring and management.
AS400 performance monitoring.
Manage printers and other external connected devices (native and through Quick-Press)
Analyzing and rectifying operating system problems
Support Internal and External audits.
Execute the Annual AS400 role owner review process.
Support all AS400 users with their requests and incidents.
Support and maintain scheduled jobs, backups, database, journals, system and application logs, month & year-end closing process, Stemco Billing process, planned & unplanned power outages, .
Support and maintain third party applications (Quick-Press, Turnover, Kofax/KCS server, Kaba/Bcomm)
Support and execute the annual AS400 Disaster Recovery exercise.
Support configuration and implementation of the AS400 security, object authority, adopted authority, system values, etc .
Support and maintain the AS400 programs that allow the users to logon to the system with the correct authorizations and menu.
Configure, maintain support all AS400 database objects for existing and new development.
Support the AS400 applications development group (restores, authorizations, communication)
Implement any software patches and updates as required.
Provide on call support 7x24x365 for AS400 hardware and software issues.
Vendor liaison with vendors (Econocom/Real Dolmen/QSL/Kaba) & others having direct or indirect impact/dependency on the AS400 landscape
Provide support to other IT groups within and supporting Tenneco, on technical issues/questions
Adhere to Tenneco Problem Management and Change Management policies and guidelines
Power System Architecture life cycle adherence and ongoing infrastructure components support (Tape Library, Storage, HMC), ensuring the environment integrity and meet/maintains high availability.
Design and code in CL, RPGIII/RPGIV/RPGLE and SQL
Knowledge of 5S and proficient in Root Cause Analysis

SKILLS:
Experience on the IBM Power I Environment.
CL, RPGIII & IV, RPGLE, SQL, S36 experience
Experience providing application support
Experience with File Transmission protocols such as FTP
Strong troubleshooting skills required
Demonstrated experience collaborating with application delivery, application development, project managers and business colleagues, delivering effective IT/business solutions.
Experience working in remote/virtual team and environment.
