AS400/RPG PROGRAMMER ANALYST

6 MONTHS+ CONTRACT

Responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining applications based on defined business and technical requirements. The role is required to work with a variety of personnel to create, test and deploy solutions to business and technology challenges. The role will require working effectively both in a structured team as well as an independent resource.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work with Business Liaison for IT and Internal customers to understand and validate end-user requirements in accordance with business need
- Finalize design specifications
- Create and document technical designs to achieve project requirements
- Complete development/programming described in design specifications
- Prepare unit test plans and execute unit testing
- Participate in system and user acceptance testing tasks as assigned
- Provide end-user support for assigned applications; includes some on-call support during non-business hours
- Modify, enhance and maintain applications as required
- Maintain integrity of applications, follow standards
- Investigate and resolve system problems in a timely manner
- Update system documentation as needed
- Develop strong relationships with partners and end-users that allow work to move forward with a common understanding

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- 5+ years of development experience in an AS400 environment
- Specific knowledge and work with SQL integration with AS400 development
- Familiarity with MQSeries and message broker
- Java programming
- Good Windows skills including writing and executing .bat files, mapping drives, scheduling tasks
- Familiarity with FTP including Scripting
- Experience working across multiple Servers and different Windows levels
- Knowledge of data architecture
- Knowledge of qualify software development process and methodology, specifically physical design
- Specific Skills: RPG ILE, CLP, JAVA, MQSeries, MQSI
