APS6 Non-Ongoing Senior Test Analyst

Canberra-based, Federal Government Department is seeking a Test Analyst to assist their Test Lead with Functional, Non Functional and Automation testing. To be successful, you will demonstrate a strong understanding of software testing principles, automation of software testing, performance testing and the software development life cycle. Planning and design of a new initiative has commenced, and implementation of this system is scheduled for January 2014.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

- Review and translate requirements into test scripts and scenarios to include Functional, Non-Functional, Performance, Regression and Automated testing
- Plan and monitor test activities for a set of testing deliverables, including allocating work to other team members
- Assist the Test Lead with testing activities to implement the agreed business outcomes ensuring all required artefacts are complete to the required standard
- Plan, design, execute and report all test cases based on an automated framework
- Assist the Test Lead with the development of a testing framework and processes
- Produce Testing Deliverables, identify and prepare test data and document and track defects to closure
- Produce meaningful reports and recommendations from testing results

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- Knowledge of testing procedures, processes, tools, and techniques
- .NET Scripting experience
- Experience in software automation and Performance testing principles
- Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio test tools
- Ability to learn new applications, business processes and procedures quickly
- Demonstrated experience in the use of a range of manual and automated test tools including but not limited to Visual Studio 2008/2010 and Microsoft Test Manager
- Extensive experience and proficiency in the delivery of quality test artefacts (including but not limited to) Test Plans, Weekly Project Testing Reports, Daily Testing Reports, Sign Off Reports, the analysis, development and execution of test cases and defect reporting and resolution.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating, managing and measuring the planning and execution of testing within a project.
