Job Description:

Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking an Apps Systems Engineer. This position will be responsible for initial buildout of their new insurance application suite in JBoss, on new Redhat Servers. This individual will partner with FTE's on the team to ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer. This is NOT a developer role, though understanding and abilities gained through development experience are a plus.

Duties include:

- Provides rotational on call support for our J2EE environments, including JBoss, Apache, tomcat, etc.
- Acts in the highest level technical role as an individual contributor and/or team lead for the most complex computer applications and/or application initiatives.
- Utilizes a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs.
- Works on the most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors.
- Plans, performs, and acts as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding, and testing.
- Leads most complex multiple modelling, simulations, and analysis efforts.
- Acts as expert technical resource to programming staff in the program development, testing, and implementation process.

Required Skills:

- 4 year degree and 10+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Written and verbal communication skills are a MUST.
- Should be at a level of Senior to Expert in JBoss and Apache administration and configuration.
- Expertise in troubleshooting is preferred.
