Applications Design Engineer - Midlands - 6 Months Initially

APPLICATIONS DESIGN ENGINEER - MIDLANDS - START 2-3 WEEKS - 6 MONTHS INITIALLY

A major automotive client is currently look for an Applications Design focused engineer to help with the design and liaising on a series of new projects to be started in succession in the near future. The focus will be on the design and support of the engineering of various aspects of the powertrain project. These include cooling, exhaust, base engine, transmission and driveline. The key area of focus is to be able to provide experience of BOTH CAD with the ability to analyse and use CAE software to produce data effectively.

MAIN TASKS:

- Establish component and system requirements from the systems engineering team.
- DESIGN THE REQUIREMENTS IN CATIA V5 and have in depth sector relevant experience.
- Once the product has been designed, THE CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO EFFECTIVELY USE CAE ANALYSIS TOOLS to handle any stress and compliance testing needed.
- Provide Support for:
-Part procurement activities.
-Powertrain Checkpoints, Design reviews, Package Meetings & Powertrain PMT meetings.
-Engineers in the resolution of Engineering Concerns including ensuring CAD information is available and traceable.

IDEAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

- GOOD WORKING EXPERIENCE OF POWERTRAIN/AUTOMOTIVE RELATED CAD DESIGN (CATIA V5).
- GOOD WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF CAE ANALYSIS AND SOFTWARE USAGE EG IDEA, NX, SOLIDWORKS etc.
- Educated to a relevant degree and level.
- The ability to adapt to multiple system and software usage.
