Application Supporter/Oracle DBA

We are currently searching for a Application Support/Oracle DBA supporter to work in The Hague, the Netherlands for 3 months plus extensions. This is a fantastic contract opportunity for a large multi-national client.

The Application Support Engineer is an infrastructure support role which requires a broad technical and analytical knowledge of Databases and Application Servers.

Accountability of the Application Support Engineer involves managing Business application Servers of key Banking and trading applications as well as new IT implementations of key financial services. The Application Support Engineer will be involved in project work, with accountability to deliver the infrastructural components as well as the DBA deliverables.

The Application Support Engineer is accountable to:
- Perform Oracle Database Administrator activities as application DBA.
- Cooperate with the Group Infrastructure to both agree and implement appropriate technical IT Infrastructure support
- Perform Application Server Management
- Refresh existing infrastructure
- Implement new infrastructure, such as (web) Servers, databases and network related infrastructure.
- Manage incidents and reduce downtime by providing expertise and insight
- Liaise with Application Development and Application Management teams to define and implement database changes to anticipate on Application Changes/upgrades
- Take the technical lead in deploying changes to production
- Working alongside other teams to come up with IT solutions for business problems
