Application Support Analyst - PI Historian, Energy Components

My client is a Worldwide Oil & Gas company with an office in Aberdeen. They are currently looking for a Business analyst with background in also managing projects, and ideally experience with databases (reporting, etc) and also business intelligence (namely Business Objects).

The role will be based in Aberdeen, but you will be liaising with and supporting offices in Europe.

Below are the main duties required:

* Assist with the support of my client's IT Applications environment.

* Manage projects from conception through to completion.

* Assist with the implementation of IT products/bespoke applications.

* Provide support to the various technical applications used. (Examples are Chemical & Corrosion Management, Document Management, Production Allocation and reporting, Hand Held technologies, Real Time Plant Information System, Planning system etc).

* Design, set up and maintain Business Objects Universes and reports
(User-friendly graphical interface for database query creation and reporting)

* Troubleshoot problems and apply upgrades/"bug" fixes to applications as necessary.

* Perform compliance and audit activities as required.

The key skills required for this role are as follows:

* Good communication and team working skills.
* Ability to work unsupervised.
* Knowledge of upstream Oil and Gas industry
* Quick Learner
* Ability to support and troubleshoot IT problems involving different technologies.

The key technical Experience / Knowledge Requirements include:

* Windows server environment.
* Oracle and SQL Server database technologies.
* PI Historian and Energy Components (MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE OF THESE)
* Applications used in Upstream Operations
