Application Support

Application Support specialists with experience in software support, maintenance and Windows operating systems are required for long term contracts in Brindisi, Italy. Our client is an internationally recognised organisation and this is an English speaking position. Your duties will include application support and application maintenance, new releases and 2nd line support.

Application Support Duties:

. Provide day-to-day maintenance and support for various applications
. Assist in the evaluation, configuration and installation of new releases
. Assist in database structural changes; required during system upgrades
. Assist in the deployment of tools and in the implementation of processes to assist in operational support
. Assist in responding to application-related queries from end users in remote locations
. Resolve in a timely manner tier-2 application issues and escalate tier-3 issues to designated focal points
. Provide training to end users on the usage of applications
. Assist in the development and in the updating of software applications related documentation, including technical documentation and system reports, attend operational and other meetings; and

Skills Required:

. 3 to 5 years (Application) Support experience
. Good working knowledge of Client Server applications in a Windows environment
. Experience with MS SQL server, Business Objects, LDAP and IIS Servers, Cognos, MS.NET, MS SharePoint, Domino/Notes (at least two of them is required)
. Microsoft Certification in SQL Server or other server technology is advantageous
. Familiarity with ITIL processes
. Excellent English (both written and verbal)
. Any Italian language skills will be beneficial
