My client a leading QLD employer is looking for an application specialist to join their team on a fixed term contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring maintenance of defined service levels for specific enterprise applications by providing customer focused service delivery management, high level specialist advice and support.

Responsibilities of the role include:

- Lead, manage and mentor teams at strategic and operational levels in the integrated operation of complex enterprise information systems to achieve and maintain defined (GCUH) service level requirements.
- Ensure clinical and business applications remain "Fit for Purpose" by working closely with business areas to analyse requirements and then manage the seamless introduction of innovation and enhanced capability into applications at new and/or existing locations.
- Ensure agreed application service levels are achieved.
- Ensure optimal performance of enterprise applications is maintained through effective working relationships with in-house technical support teams and third parties that provide support for the enterprise infrastructure and applications.
- Lead and mentor highly skilled teams in accordance with the approved Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) processes.
- Manage a budget in accordance with the appropriate financial delegations including developing and contributing to funding strategies and budget submissions for Project work within nominated Service Integration Management (SIM) teams.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

- High level skills and experience in managing clinical and non clinical applications and the associated clinical/business data and work-flows, in a large and complex service environment
- Ability to develop and promote quality and service management processes including contract management, service level management and incident management.
- Ability to co-ordinate and manage diverse activities and priorities across organisational boundaries to ensure that service delivery meets agreed service levels in a customer focused ICT environment.
- Experience in negotiating, managing and reporting against service level agreements whilst maintaining an emphasis on clinical and business outcomes
- Well developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people including senior business and technical stakeholders to make decisions.
- Proven ability to lead, manage and mentor a team of technical specialists (NHS: Leading change through people).
- Well developed management skills and knowledge including high level ability in the areas of planning, scheduling, testing, resource management, budget preparation and financial management.
