APPLICATION SERVICES ANALYST
3 MONTH CONTRACT ROLE
BASED IN CENTRAL LONDON
SC CLEARANCE

BACKGROUND
Our Central Government client require a Application Services Analyst to provide applications assurance and subject matter expert (SME) services for Criminal Justice Secure Exchange (CJSE).

Due to the urgent nature of this role preference will be given to candidates who hold valid SC Clearance

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide applications assurance and subject matter experts (SME) services for Criminal Justice Secure Exchange (CJSE) service. As well as providing Applications assurance for all CJSE services, you will be expected to provide a degree of governance and also act as an escalation point for service issues. You will be the reference point for future demand and will work with the Account Managers, Suppliers and both internal teams and external partners to assess demand requirements and assist in assessing the suitability of the CJSE to run future services. This role requires a person with a strong service management life cycle experience and ability and willingness to engage with the customers.

As the CJSE SME you will be responsible for providing assurance to clients CJSE service. Working with suppliers and other key stakeholders within ICT to ensure the overall functionality and performance of an application consistently meets the Business requirements for today and remains good enough for the future, and ensures the application is presented to the Business with the required availability at the correct price provide.

Skills/Experience Required

ESSENTIAL

- CJSE expertise/experience
- ITIL V3 qualifications(s) or equivalent experience.
- You will possess strong communications, relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Has an analytical and creative approach to problem solving.
- Is able to absorb new technical, commercial and business concepts quickly, and work with them.
- Has recognised expertise in the technical specialism, the technology involved, current developments, the most commonly available products, and the application of the specialism within a technical or business environment. Has a sound, broad knowledge of IT and an excellent understanding of how the technical specialism relates to other areas of IT and how it impacts on other business functions. Is persuasive in communicating at all levels and is able to ensure that advice regarding the technical specialism is acted upon.

DESIRABLE.
Familiarity with the Government IT Profession and cross government IT policies. Understanding of the Government and working in the justice system. Demonstrated awareness of the social, environmental and corporate impact of ICT. Familiarity with relevant national and international legislation pertaining to the Government/Public Sector IT - eg Data Protection Act, Information Assurance policy. Understanding of the organisation's IT/Information Systems plans, business objectives and some awareness of comparable organisations. Overall understanding of the skills or business units serviced by the IT areas supported. Probably educated to degree level or holds a professional qualification or equivalent experience.

FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
ITIL v3 Service Management qualifications
