Application Security Consultant

We are currently searching for a Application Security Tester to work in Amsterdam, The Netherlands for 6 months + extensions. This is a fantastic contract opportunity for a large multi-national client.

Application Security Consultant (Penetration Tester)

The candidate will be responsible for leading application penetration testing and security assessment consulting services, including secure source code review, web application penetration testing, and secure development life cycle review. This is a unique opportunity to provide strategic thought leadership as a senior member of a truly wide professional services practice, with the scope for career development limited only by personal dedication and drive. The Client is a certified company and as such dedicated to delivering the highest quality of security consultancy.

As a self-motivated, client-facing professional who is comfortable in delivering clear and concise information at both technical and management level, you will be adaptable and flexible in your work with a positive attitude. You will be given the opportunity to be exposed to a broad range of large international clients and work with some of the best in the business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for understanding the landscape and business context in which application security consulting services are utilised and have a mature understanding of risk to help advise clients effectively.

This position is open to candidates with a minimum of 5 years experience with at least 3 years in a dedicated penetration testing role.

Experience and Skills:
Essential:
-Highly technical with a deep knowledge of hacking and penetration testing techniques, methodologies and tools, covering web application testing and infrastructure testing as a minimum.
-Excellent report writing skills coupled with an acute attention to detail.
-An ability to scope and deliver security projects on time and within budget.
-A strong work ethic, articulate with good communication skills.

Advantageous:
-Knowledge of application security, source code review and secure development life cycle review an advantage.
-Expert knowledge of programming languages: Java, .NET, C. Development background (Preferred).
-Knowledge of secure coding principles supported by broad information security experience.
-Evidence of ongoing personal development in the penetration testing space eg research and development or personal blog.
-Crest Certified or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities:
-To lead the delivery of application penetration testing and security assessment services to external clients.
-Involvement in projects end to end from sale through to delivery.
-To manage time and workload on individual and team engagements, cooperating with clients and managing stakeholder expectations.
-Keeping current with vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures.
