Application Production Support Specialist

Application support specialist required by my large Multi National bank
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- APS support for the Broadridge Impact, NYBOSS and MBSE applications
- Settlements domain technical knowledge needed to help in resolving Application Production Support (APS) Issues.
- Define, track, and resolve production incidents working directly with APS team, Impact users, internal and external help desks (including Broadridge help desk).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot Broadridge Impact application and NYBOSS developed intra-day and overnight batch processing issues.
- Support various internal and external interfaces to Impact and NYBOSS.
- Support Technical and Business Analysts in defining application production issues.
- Participate in technical analysis, requirements gathering, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for changes impacting APS domain.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery testing (DR) involving weekend and evening hours.
- Provide on-call support for overnight batch processing (1 week in 5)
- Support changes to the production environments, often involving weekend and evening hours.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot Broadridge Impact application and internally developed intra-day and overnight batch processing issues.
- Work with development team and vendors to implement fixes and software upgrades to the application platforms.
- Support various internal and external interfaces to Fixed Income clearance and settlement system.
REQUIREMENTS
TRAINING AND OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in an application support environment
ESSENTIAL SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- SQL, to query data for problem analysis and to apply updates as required
- Experience in creating and reviewing technical support documentation.
- Experience with Windows office toolset (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc..).
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Problem solving, analytical and documentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills, service oriented
- Knowledge of securities products, specifically Bonds, Repos, MBS
SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS
- Must be able to work as part of a team, use own initiative and be self motivated
- Knowledge of Back Office Settlement systems (settlements, confirmations, accounting etc) and operational procedures is a plus
- Experience with Showcase query product is a plus.
- Knowledge of Broadridge ICI/Impact data model is a plus
- Basic knowledge of UNIX is a plus
- Use of industry standard tools (Service Now/ITSM, Jira) is a plus
