Application Packager - Admin Studio

Working in the Packaging/Deployment team of this household name organisation, this opportunity will give you the chance to play a key role in the creation of remotely deployable application packages. You will be responsible for requirements gathering, creating packages, QA, UAT, deployment as well as the maintaining/verification of applications. The role will also see you ensure that application packages are created, tested and deployed on Windows 6/7/8, Active Directory and Novell ZCM/Config Manager and existing SOE.

In more detail, you will:

- Ensure and control the end to end packaging and deployment process to ensure that both are completed in a timely manner.
- Install, configure and maintain infrastructure systems, patches and upgrades to ensure the development and maintenance of effective technology infrastructure.
- Make recommendations and assist in the design and implementation of technology infrastructure solutions
- Provide input into the planning of future infrastructure requirements, liaise with software vendors to determine fixes and upgrades available and investigate and install new releases and patches to ensure the stability and availability of technology infrastructure
- Undertaking basic problem diagnoses, correction and support to resolve issues as required

You will bring to the role:

- Experience in Application Packaging using Admin Studio for Windows 7 and Windows 8
- Experience in Application Virtualisation technologies ( AppV, Xen App etc )
- Scripting - especially VBScript & PowerShell will be highly desirable
- Experience in Novell Zenworks, ZCM SCCM/Config Manager Application Deployment would be a bonus
- Experience with Application packaging life cycles, work flow and Problem/Release/Change management
- Understanding of Active Directory and Group policy
- Excellent communication skills along with the ability to train new members of the team on packaging standards
