Application Packager

OUR CLIENT, IT COMPANY PROVIDING INFORMATION SOLUTIONS IS CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A NUMBER OF APPLICATION PACKAGERS TO WORK ON 3 MONTH CONTRACTS, BASED IN CREWE OR RUNCORN - SC CLEARED PROJECTS.

Due to the sensitivity of the project, candidates must hold SC clearance or be eligible to undergo a vetting process.

TOP RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Carry out Application Compatibility, Application Discovery, Application Packaging, Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing.
- Perform full life cycle of software packaging including, requirement gathering, analysis, packaging, and customizations.
- Provide packaging solutions using wise Scripting, silent installs, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain quality standards and policies relating to desktop technologies and desktop management.
- Provide advice, both reactively and pro-actively, to customers, projects, bid teams and colleagues.
- Create Windows installer packages using Wise Package Studio.
- Package applications using the Microsoft App-V Sequencer & MSi
- Prepare and produce systems documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

- Excellent Knowledge of Desktop Operating Systems including Windows XP, Windows 7
- Experience of Software Application Packaging using standard tools such as Wise, InstallShield and AdminStudio to create MSI's and transform files
- Experience with APP-V sequencing
- Experience of Scripting languages such as VB Scripting.
- Understanding of Application Compatibility Testing and application installations
