APPLICATION OPERATION AND SUPPORT ENGINEER - UNIX/WINDOWS

Application Operation and Support Engineer wanted for our client from the banking sector in Zurich, Switzerland.

YOUR TASKS:

- Operating applications on UNIX/Windows infrastructure for several business units (IB, PB und AM) and 2nd Level Support (mostly but not limited to web applications)
- Testing, integrating and producing infrastructures for web based services running on Sun Solaris, Red Head Linux and Windows based systems
- Assisting the integration of new systems and products, including support for projects through all environments from test to production
- Conducting quality assurance and acceptance tests of web applications frameworks as well as creating, revising and updating technical documentation
- Supporting the application operations team (7x24h)

YOUR EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

- Completed apprenticeship in Information Technology or other adequate education
- Professional experience in operating web applications on various platforms (Sun Solaris, Red Hat Linux, Windows), min 5-8 years
- Experience in system administration of UNIX environments and state of the art web services (Oracle Weblogic and iPlanet, Microsoft IIS). Know-how of Windows administration is an asset.
- Knowledge and/or experience in Systems Management Tools (eg BMC Patrol, ITSM, ServiceNow), Virtualization (LDOM/VMWare), UNIX Scripting and ITIL V3 are an advantage.
- Languages: Fluent in English/German would be a plus
